falling in love with/becoming most acquainted with a band after seeing them live.
a few weeks ago, i saw grouplove at black cat. i definitely liked them before. but only had two songs (sad, but they really don’t have a ton of music out.) now that i’m listening to more of their EP, the songs have such a different feeling when i listen to them. usually i listen to an album first, associating all things “me” with it (where i was, what time of year, my relationships at the time, etc.) with the music.
but with this album, all i can think about is the incredibly joyful energy, the jumping, the smiling, the marriage proposal, the yelling, the hugging that was the grouplove show.
